-What was the experience like in filming for the ‘State of Mind’ video
Filming for the “State of Mind” was a good experience. It felt good working on a team project because since I have been riding for Zoo, 5 plus years, we haven’t had a team video. We have had tour ESQ videos, this one was a lot more planned out. It was time for us to put something together that solidified our team, and who we are, and what we r about.
-There was a lot of traveling had during the filming -- what was your favorite trip?
I always enjoy being in Europe during the summer. I liked our trip there because it was broken up into different team members at different times. It is always good being with homies anywhere. Especially New York.
-What are some of your favorite spots? Old or newly discovered…
My favorite spots are in my video part, or most of them. I being in New York, and skating around the city. Anything u get in the city is so valuable. It takes a lot to get something quality there.

-Did you guys have any sketchy experiences while on tour?
Nothing sketchy comes to mind. We did have an intense travel itinerary in Europe, and at times it was to produce. We covered a lot of ground there. All in all the chemistry with the teammates is there. Any sketchy situation can become comedy at some point.
-How did you approach your part when filming? Anything you were trying to focus on in particular?
My approach was different for this part because the things I got were things I wanted to get for some time. I am glad that I was able to get a lot of my clips. Most of my stuff is at spots that aren’t that accessible. So timing, and coordination was a key factor. Security guards, filmer, and weather always play a key factor in Miami, and New York. I was trying to focus on being original, and to be in tune with my body. Not pushing myself too hard. Letting the forces lead me to where I needed to be. I like things to look natural. I try not to have things that every kid can go and do. I.E. front board 15, or the flavor of the month type stuff.
-Describe what filming in NYC in the bitter winter is like…
Filming in NYC…that is a task in itself. Coordinating ur day. There is so much going on around u at all times. Throw in the weather, the spots, and everything else it can be a challenge. A lot of times everything is against u there. U just have to go out, and try what u have in mind. The go back factor is the worst. I took four different trains to a spot for one clip. And the place wasn’t open! It can be frustrating. The saga always continues.
-Who in the crew usually pushes you to skate harder?
I like skating with Eli, Donny, or Zared. They are always doing something fresh, or something that gets u psyched. I like watching Donny push around, or do some flat ground. That usually gets me going. I think a lot of my teammates feed off each other.
-What are some upcoming plans leading up to and after the premiere?
My plans after the premiere…get the things that I was unable to get in my part. I had a handful of things that didn’t go down. Always disappointing when a deadline comes, and things don’t come together. I am working on a video part for MIA Skateshop. Josh Steward is editing the video, and it is cool working with him again. I am out trying to get photos for the mags as much as I can, and just keep it moving. Consistently. The steam engine theory.
-What is your “State of Mind” when you roll into NYC?
Mu State of Mind in NYC…is to be a part of a living breathing concrete jungle. I get inspired by all the things u see on a day to day there. Rain or shine. I like the NYC style. I like the feeling of being in NYC, and the state of mind that it promotes. Keep it moving always.
