New music from Bark Bark Disco (Malta/Berlin)

Release tribute music video to Jane Fonda’s classic stream of 80’s workout videos

Bark Bark Disco first hit cyberspace in 2010 with their ‘notorious’ video for “Song For The Lovers” – a tribute to 70’s erotic legend Brigitte Lahaie, featuring footage from the classic film ‘Six Swedish Girls in a Boarding School’. The video has to date chalked up over 400k hits.

The band is based around the enigmatic figure of frontman Morris Woodcock. The origins of BBD stem back to August 2009, a week before they played their debut concert with Bonnie Prince Billy, in a masonic cemetery in Valletta. Allegedly it was this gig that actually pushed the band to formation.

One might find the ingredients that make the Bark Bark Disco sound somewhere in between a Broadway musical sing-along and an Atari computer. You will hear the pop sensibility of bands like The Moldy Peaches, Herman Dune, The Modern Lovers and The Vaselines, with an even more simplistic lo-fi angle.

Following the release of debut album “Your Mum Says Hello”, BBD went on to play gigs in Paris, London, Vienna, Berlin, Cologne, Tokyo, Kyoto, supported Canadian duo Handsome Furs, got introduced by Tom Robinson (BBC) and got a slew of blog buzz.

DDB have now released Stop Making My Life Hell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV3jcyJ_xRY
